CONCEPTUAL ARTIST
Born in Tofino, Vancouver Island, BC and relocated to NYC in the late 70’s, Richard Art Hambleton is the Godfather of Public Art who used the urban canvas to evoke public reaction. His celebrated works include acclaimed series known as Image Mass Murder, Marlboro Country, Shadow Man, Shadow Head Portraits, Horse and Riders, and Beautiful Paintings. Hambleton died on October 29, 2017 on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
