Gregory Corn and John Wigmore
Sculpture
January 18 – February 22, 1997
Woodward Gallery
Woodward Gallery presents new sculpture by Artists Gregory Corn and John Wigmore that evolve from such natural elements as light, paper, gravity and stone.
Gregory Corn employs his trademark stacking and balancing with wire or canvas strips to support effortlessly the weight of steel slabs. Some of his Corn’s elements appear to magnetically hang together while others hover precariously in balance. He expertly arranges geometric shapes that react to each other based on size, gravity ad space. He has been published in the New York Times and New York Magazine.
John Wigmore is a lighting designer and artist. Natural materials, Minimalism and the Light and Space movement of Los Angeles in the 60’s and 70’s were John’s primary influence in the creation of his first light sculptures in New York City in 1993. Woodward Gallery (G.O.L.A.) premieres Wigmore’s early atmospheric light sculptures in our SoHo gallery.
John Wigmore has been published in Architectural Digest, Metropolitan Home, Interior Design, NY Times, and Architectural Record. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
